Kloosterboer strengthens Board of Directors with Jaco Hooij

As of 1 January 2017 Jaco Hooij will take up a seat on Kloosterboer’s Board of Directors. He joins the company having previously worked for Den Hartogh Logistics. With effect from the start of the new year Jaco, together with Kloosterboer’s CEO Hans Kroes, will form the Board of Directors of this family business. The two-member Board will head-up and manage this international logistics service provider in the cold storage industry. In conjunction with this appointment and with effect from the same date, two of the present members of the Board will step down and will be fulfilling different positions within the company. Alex Kloosterboer will join the Supervisory Board and John Wittenberg, the Financial Director, will be focussing on the business interests of the family.

The further strengthening of the Board with professional management from outside the family is a logical next step in a previously selected path for the governance and further professionalisation of the company. With a view to affirming the continuity of the company, the third generation brothers will take on different roles and the Board will exist of qualified management from outside of the family. This strategic development is already visible on the Supervisory Board, where in addition to the family shareholders, there has been reinforcements with very experienced people from outside the family.

Kloosterboer’s new Director, Jaco Hooij, was a member of the Board of Directors at Den Hartogh Logistics from 2011. At Den Hartog he was responsible for Liquid Logistics, a business section within the company, and for the management of the company’s growth in the EU, CIS and Turkey. Prior to his position at Den Hartogh, Jaco held a number of senior management positions at TNT.

The Supervisory Board is confident that under the leadership of this new management Board, the company will continue to decisively and positively build on the further development of Kloosterboer as an international logistics service provider in the supply chain for temperature controlled goods.
