Kloosterboer BLG Coldstore receives IFS certification

The Kloosterboer BLG Coldstore GmbH, located in Bremerhaven Container Terminal, has received confirmation that it has fulfilled the necessary requirements of the International Featured Standard, IFS Logistics 2.1, and has therefore received the applicable certificate from the certification authority LACON GmbH.

The IFS certification demands that all relevant areas comply to the requirements of the IFS Logistics version 2.1 and ensure the highest possible level of food safety. Kloosterboer BLG Coldstore’s  certification remains valid until November 28th 2018, at which point its annual reconfirmation will take place through means of an audit.

The IFS Logistics marks the common goal of trade and industry creating transparency and confidence over the entire supply chain. This IFS standard, which was developed particularly for activities within the range of storage, distribution and transport as well as loading and unloading, can be implemented both for food handling and for Non Food Products.

Lüder Korff, Managing Director of Kloosterboer BLG Coldstore, states that this IFS certification is the confirmation of many years of good practice in relation of hygiene and hazard control. “For both existing customers as well as in terms of the acquisition of new customers, certification in IFS Logistics 2.1 is an elementary component of current and/or future co-operations”, states Korff. “What we are particularly proud of is the fact that we immediately passed the certification first time round, at the higher level!”
