Under the name Kloosterboer BLG Coldstore GmbH and in collaboration with the BLG LOGISTICS GROUP, operations are set to be carried out in Bremerhaven’s container terminal with a cold store facility featuring a capacity of 29,000 pallets. The additional planned construction of a cold store facility in Bremerhaven’s Fischereihafen, which will also be operated by Kloosterboer BLG Coldstore GmbH, represents the further expansion of the Group’s operations and activities in Germany.

“With the addition of Kloosterboer BLG Coldstore GmbH, De Fischereihafen is able to further improve its range of available conditioned storage. The establishment of this important new player at the site is a very welcomed development”, explains Melf Grantz, President of the supervisory board for Fischereihafen-Betriebsgesellschaft (FBG) and Mayor of Bremenhaven. Kloosterboer’s services represent a significant upgrade for the local fish and food industry.

“We are delighted that we have been successfully able to attract Kloosterboer, one of the largest suppliers of temperature controlled logistics, to Bremenhaven’s Fischereihafen. The extra cool store capacity is something we need here. It ensures the future of the fish and food industries remain safe”, comments Petra Neykov, director FBG.

“In addition to storage, our customers expect value-added services. With the construction of the new facility, not far from Freihafen, we are able to fulfil all customer needs, from storage to order picking and assembly. Furthermore, the plans include a modern packing centre. This all creates excellent facilities for existing and new customers enabling us to strengthen the region as a whole”, comments Lüder Korff, Director of Kloosterboer BLG Coldstore GmbH.

Jaco Hooij, Director of Kloosterboer B.V. adds: "We are carrying out a comprehensive analysis of the necessary parameters such as size, degree of automation and the machines required for the new building. In this way, we can develop a service centre tailored specifically for temperature controlled products. Our experience with the construction and operation of various cold store facilities is of significant value in this process.”

The exact start date for the construction is not yet known however business operations are scheduled to commence during for the first half of 2018.
